Just Can't Stop Thinking..
So I just can't stop thinking about how I was told that my approach to finding help may have been wrong or offensive in some way. That the way I was asking for help may have seemed pushy like I expected people to help but should not have expected anything. Well I just can't get over being criticized for expecting help from people who can help.
You can't expect all the times you help people to be little fairy tales of fun and excitement. Real people with real emotional mental and other issues may come to you for help and you may turn them away because of they way they act towards you for a minute or because they expect you to help?
I just cannot get over some of the twisted logic I have seen from the comments left on my blog from people who profess faith in something yet then add on their own little twist.
You may be thinking..."I guess this person still hasen't found housing." No I actually have thank you but that doesn't mean I will automatically stop talking about some of the comments I received which bugged me regarding the issue.
I just can't stop thinking about this and how dissapointed I am in people in general for criticizing someone who just wanted help finding housing...I didn't ask for money or free food...Just help to find a suitable place for me and my baby and our soon to be family...But apparently my approach sucked or people are against families nowadays...
A Funny Tune
You know christians sing a funny tune sometimes. Then again most of humankind are like that. Didn't jesus say"Love God,Love others and Love yourself."? Love yourself being last? So what should be done when someone is in need and you can provide? Should you think of a way it can work...? Or worry about yourself and how much of a hit your pocketbook will take? Or any other number of scenarios that could happen.
You can say like many have said here and elsewhere to me that no one is obligated...People have to watch out for themselves etc. But is that what jesus would have told us to do? If jesus was like people nowadays would he have fed people like he did by multiplying those fish and that bread in the bible? Probably not. If he was like people and christians now he would stop and think a few differen't things..."These people look a little shifty...I don't know about them they may hurt my diciples... I am not obligated to help them.... Why feed them? Who knows how greatfull they will actually be?.."
Yes I am aware that people aren't perfect. But how long can you use that as an excuse aswell? If you have an opportunity to help and don't and continue to pass up opportunities to help people and keep on making excuses can you then say people aren't perfect? Do people who have a seemingly bad attitude deserve less respect and less help then those who are happy go lucky? Do you consider that these people with a so called 'chip on their shoulder' have probably been through much more than many people can imagine and are just getting completly worn down? They may not have the energy anymore for all the pleasantries and because you see them as rude or some other thing you choose not to help them even though they are obviously in need.
Did jesus say only help those who are pleasant to you? Did he say help only those who look nice and clean and favorable? Did he say don't go to far out of your way to help after all you need to look after yourself?
Think about what you are saying to others and about what your own bible says about how you are to treat others and what your actions are to show. No I am not a christian but I use to be and am well aware of the message jesus preached.
Just think about replying here before you rant about how people have to be more careful nowadays. I do value the comments but would like people to take some time and think about what I type here rather than jumping right away to defending themselves.
